For the past 14 years, owner and butcher, Andrew Bennet has been tempting customers’ tastebuds with an outstanding range of meats and ready-to-cook meals.
His specialty is the diverse and award-winning range of sausages. He has some 12 flavours on offer. The bratwurst sausage took out second place in the Victorian regional finals held recently.
“We’re going to be the winners next year,” Andrew Bennet confidently says.
His customers certainly have their sausage favourites. Children love the Cornish sausage, while adults enjoy the Mexican sausage with its full-of-punch flavour.
In the ready-to-cook meals, the crumbed chicken tenderloins are the most popular followed closely by stir fries, lamb curries, Italian chicken, lamb souvlaki and the marinated ribs.
“Our meat definitely has a lot more flavour,” Andrew Bennet says. There are no antibiotics and no growth hormones in the meat we sell.
Everyday, there are some 100 trays of different cuts of meat available at Meat in a Box.
