Saturdays are going to sizzle with sumptuous sausages

North Balwyn Village is going to sizzle the whole month of April.

Our resident butcher shop – Meat in a Box fires up the Saturday sausage sizzle barbecue during April to help raise funds for the Royal Childrens Hospital.

It’s been a while since the sizzling smells of those delicious, award winning sausages at Meat in a Box have been served up on the shopping strip, but the great tradition returns this weekend from 9.30am-1.30pm and most weekends in April, except the Easter weekend.

Meat in a Box owner Andrew Bennet says he will have his award winning sausages sizzling on the barbecue and is sure the aromas will spread across North Balwyn.

“We’ll have both plain and gourmet sausages cooking and they will be served up on bread supplied by Bakers Delight and together with sauce and onions from our local Signorelli’s fruit and vegetable shop, for those who want to boost their vegetable intake, it’s going to be a winning Saturday sausage from Meat in Box,” Andrew Bennet says.

So if you’re heading out to Saturday morning sport with the kids or have plenty of errands to run, then ditch breakfast at home and swing by and grab a sausage instead from Meat in a Box.

If the taste has you wanting more, then pop inside and buy anyone of the award-winning varieties that have seen Meat in a Box sausages take home prizes: Lamb and mint, pork, Mexican, beef and garlic, bratwurst, Cornish and the traditional country-style sausage.

There is plenty of parking in the car parks surrounding the North Balwyn Village so it’s even easier to grab yourself a sizzling sausage on Saturdays in April.
